Job Summary:
The role of IT Systems Consultant involves developing, implementing, supporting, managing, reporting, and monitoring our customers' Enterprise IT environments. Leveraging CDA's extensive experience, technical acumen, and comprehensive Enterprise IT proficiency, the IT Systems Consultant delivers a range of consulting services. This encompasses both reactive and proactive solutions, alongside preventive measures for various Enterprise IT solutions. As a trusted advisor, the IT Systems Consultant gains an in-depth understanding of the customer's environment, functioning as an extension of their IT team while providing seamless support and expertise.
Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot complex technical issues in an Enterprise environment.

On an ongoing basis, obtain industry technical certifications that further your IT skillset.

Mentor other teammates with learning key technical concepts around Enterprise architecture and technologies including areas such as server virtualization, network/systems architectures, systems integrations, and other relevant technologies.

Possess the soft skills to be able to defuse a tense/sensitive situation, while still being able to act firmly if/when necessary.

Demonstrate the desire and ability to continue learning new concepts and remain up to date on the most recent technologies, particularly those related to Enterprise IT technologies.

Develop, deploy, install, configure, and maintain Enterprise IT technology solutions for customer environments.

The primary role of the IT Systems Consultant is to provide our customers with one or more of the following services:

Incident management – Troubleshoot and resolve incidents received from the customer (in alignment with SLAs) and/or that were created to address alerts from a monitoring system.
-
Change management – Attend weekly customer change review board meetings, write/submit change tickets, and perform changes during customer change windows (typically after-hours).
-
Problem management – Analyze the customer’s incident history to determine if any trends/patterns represent an underlying problem, and if so, work with the customer to address the problem.
-
Event management – Investigate alerts received from a monitoring system and determine proper actions to address the alerts.
-
Request fulfillment – Fulfill IT automation-related service requests received from the customer.
-
Environment management – Functions include managing/administering IT automation technologies and components within the development, test, and/or production environments, updating IT automation environment documentation, applying approved patches and/or software updates to IT automation components, assessing the health of and making recommendations to optimize IT automation platforms, and providing IT automation thought leadership.

Reporting – Develop and deliver ad-hoc and regularly scheduled reports containing metrics and other information per the customer’s requirements.

Ticket management - Maintain accurate and timely ticketing system data (e.g., detailed ticket notes, accurate ticket status, following up on tickets to avoid excessive ticket aging, etc.).

Monitoring - Configure and manage the monitoring solution for IT automation and related ancillary technologies, including helping to establish baselines and adjusting threshold values as needed.

Analysis - Analyze monitoring metrics and alerts to identify patterns/trends, make correlations, and provide actionable information.

Development – Develop software code/scripts to automate IT processes and/or integrate IT technologies.

o Server OS (e.g., Windows Server, UNIX/Linux)
o Basic Networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, Routing, Networking, DHCP)
o Relational Databases (e.g., MS SQL, Postgres)
o Agile concepts (e.g., Scrum, CI/CD)

Microsoft foundation certification preferred, Citrix and Ivanti certifications a plus

Must be able to work at least 40-hours Monday through Friday. Typical working hours would be within your local time zone or customer’s time zone. In addition, you must be flexible to accommodate customer change control windows during off hours, nights, and weekends as needed
-
Ability to participate in after-hours on-call rotation.

Obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in fields like Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business, or possess an equivalent of 1-5 years of relevant job experience.

Demonstrated 2-4 years of experience in IT automation and/or IT operations.

Holds certifications in various Enterprise technologies, IT Operations, and IT Service Management domains, including but not limited to Security+, Network+, Linux+, Splunk, Citrix, VMware, Ivanti, etc.
